February was busy.
I acquired my first dynamic rope and led my first several rock climbs without an instructor looking over my shoulder — I've been fortunate to have an opportunity to go climbing two or three times every week;
I took my first lead fall,
which was both humbling and revigorating;I had three discovery calls with prospective budgeting coaching clients, and two of them hired me — one of those leads came from this newsletter, and that felt encouraging;
I kept up with my daily 16-hours-ish fast and kept working on incorporating more fresh and live foods in my diet;
I relaunched this newsletter and resumed the habit of sharing my process in public :-)
Another happy budgeter
I had three budgeting coaching sessions with Renato last year. I wrote to him a couple of weeks ago to check how he was doing and ask him for a testimonial for my blog. This is a rough translation of what he wrote back (made and shared with his approval):
Honestly, I didn't think I would have much to learn from Mika's home budgeting mentoring since I already had some experience controlling my finances in spreadsheets. However, the method he showed me was more straightforward and efficient in helping me plan and have better control over my finances. Instead of just reflecting after spending, I am now budgeting before spending, and with a helpful app. I can purchase furniture for my new home without feeling financially tight. His mentoring is beneficial for those with experience controlling their finances and ESSENTIAL for those who do not. Recommended!

Coming next on the newsletter
In the next several weeks to a couple of months, I will post several articles explaining my approach to budgeting in greater detail. Stay tuned!
Coming next in real life
I'm flying to Brasília and looking forward to spending time with Granny, hanging out with Dad, and catching up with a few friends from High School and College.
I'll give a presentation on the liberating benefits of having a budget and how to do it at the YOLO Cowork.
I'll climb as much as the weather and willing partners allow!
How about you?
